We have a vast experience of Workshop Leading, Lecturing and devising education programmes.
Gareth has lectured on Performing Arts Courses at MANCHESTER MET UNIVERSITY, LEEDS MET UNIVERSITY, DE MONTFONT UNIVERSITY and various FE colleges around the country.
Bernadette has taught in many schools and colleges, and is the comedy and stagecraft teacher for “The Cheek of It!”, specialising in teaching devising, comedy and character work for cabaret and variety performers.
We have lead and created workshops on devised theatre, writing, improvisation, voice, movement and performance technique in many colleges, venues and schools in this country and abroad.
We have often used the workshop material to make a show with the participants. Shows have toured to the USA or been used in a professional productions. We have created over 30 shows -most recently THE WORKSHOP at People Show studios was a highly successful project that was co devised by Gareth and received backing from the Arts Council and Tower Hamlets.

Recent workshops
All Washed Up (June-September 2010)

Gwyn Jones school, Leytonstone
- We worked with Gavin Turk’s House Of Fairytales on their Waterwheel Project. Bernadette faciliated two workshops for London primary schools, with Josh Knowles (House of Fairytales Live Arts Curator. ) The ideas generated by the children contributed to the show ”All Washed Up” written and performed by Bernadette on 10-12th September 2010, for the Thames Festival. Bernadette’s starting point for the show were the stories attached to objects washed up on the banks of the river, as retold by an eccentric beachcomber. There was an interactive element to the show, where visitors could leave their own messages in bottles to imagined friends in the future (up river) or the past (down river). - Advanced Burlesque (22nd June 2009-ongoing)

Bernadette is back for the second year, teaching for The Cheek of It! on the advanced burlesque course. The workshop includes: stagecraft, comedy techniques, how to make an entrance, and direction on developing cabaret acts.
